Though the season of Advent emerges at the darkest time of our calendar year, it is a liturgical season filled with light, hope and joy. Like the season of Easter, Advent invites us to fully enter into its hopeful and joy-filled spirit, beginning Symbolically with the Annunciation to Mary of Christ’s coming arrival into our world. It is through the darkness especially – because of it – that Christ is coming to be with us.
