Montreal

It was a remarkable Sunday on October 26, as nearly 700 pilgrims set out together on a spiritual journey from one parish to another. United in prayer and fraternity, they discovered along the way the depth of faith and the rich cultural mosaic that give life to our Church in Montreal.

The pilgrimage unfolded across six parishes — six stops, six worlds to explore, six opportunities to marvel. At each stage, voices rose in prayer, each in its own language, blending into a single harmony. French met English; Italian responded to Spanish; Creole conversed with Vietnamese; Arabic met Portuguese; Tagalog intertwined with Tamil. In this symphony of tongues, it was the language of the heart that resounded most deeply.

Between moments of prayer, intercultural activities encouraged sharing and dialogue. Laughter, conversation, and the exchange of stories turned strangers into friends, building bridges where some once saw only differences.

“As we walk together, we remember that each of us is ‘the other’ to those who do not yet know us,” the organizers reminded participants. This experience made that truth tangible: each encounter revealed an unexpected richness behind every new face.

At a time when difference can sometimes give rise to fear or mistrust, these 700 pilgrims chose to see differently. They discovered that diversity does not divide us; it enriches us, opens our hearts to welcome, and reminds us that we are all members of one Body.

Step by step, prayer after prayer, smile after smile, we built a greater “We.”
And it was a beautiful experience.

We extend heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in this unforgettable day. Your presence, openness, and joy made this pilgrimage a living witness to communion in diversity.
